FORCEFLEX™ Hall Effect Joysticks
The APEX 5 uses Flydigi's FORCEFLEX™ Hall Effect joystick system, combining contactless magnetic sensing with a specialized mechanical centering structure.
Joystick resistance can be physically adjusted using the included tension adjustment tool, allowing players to choose a lighter feel for rapid movements or greater resistance for more controlled aiming and tracking.
1000Hz Wired & Wireless Polling
The APEX 5 supports up to 1000Hz polling through both USB wired and 2.4GHz wireless connections.
This allows the controller to report inputs much more frequently than conventional 125Hz or 250Hz controllers, providing faster and more consistent input updates during competitive gameplay. Bluetooth does not operate at the 1000Hz polling rate.
FORCEADAPT™ Force-Feedback Triggers
Flydigi's patented FORCEADAPT™ triggers go beyond conventional analog triggers by using active force feedback.
Through Flydigi Space Station, the triggers can provide different response characteristics for gaming scenarios such as:
Standard linear trigger operation
Racing-style resistance
Simulated firearm trigger resistance
Recoil-style feedback
Adjustable trigger travel
The system can dynamically alter trigger resistance to create more physical feedback during compatible gaming scenarios.
Mechanical ABXY Buttons
The APEX 5 features mechanical micro-switch ABXY buttons, providing crisp tactile feedback and rapid actuation.
The more defined click response makes them particularly suitable for action, fighting and competitive games where repeated inputs and clear button feedback are important.
6 Extra Remappable Buttons
The controller provides six additional programmable controls beyond the standard gamepad layout.
These consist of:
2 fixed rear buttons
2 detachable rear paddles
2 additional micro bumpers
The extra controls allow frequently used commands to remain accessible without forcing players to move their thumbs away from the analog sticks.
Full-Color Interactive Display
A built-in full-color interactive screen allows controller information and customization features to be accessed directly from the APEX 5.
The display supports customizable animations at up to 150 FPS, including user-defined visual content, giving the controller a distinctive level of personalization.
Full-Length RGB Lighting
The APEX 5 features a customizable full-length RGB light bar inspired by automotive lighting.
Lighting effects can be customized and synchronized with compatible vibration effects for a more dynamic gaming setup.
Four-Motor Vibration System
The controller uses a four-motor haptic system with vibration in both the grips and triggers.
Combined with the FORCEADAPT trigger system, this allows more detailed physical feedback during racing, shooting and other supported gaming scenarios.
6-Axis Motion Control
A built-in 6-axis gyroscope enables motion-based controls in supported games and platforms.
Gyro functions can also be configured through Flydigi's software for additional aiming and motion-control options.
Tri-Mode Connectivity
The FLYDIGI APEX 5 supports three connection methods:
2.4GHz NearLink Wireless
Bluetooth
USB-C Wired
The official manual identifies its wireless technologies as NearLink and Bluetooth 5.0, with an operating distance of under approximately 10 meters under suitable conditions.
1500mAh Rechargeable Battery
The APEX 5 contains a 1500mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
Flydigi's official manual specifies approximately 3–4 hours charging time using a 5V charging source. Battery runtime varies depending on screen use, RGB lighting, vibration, force-feedback triggers and connection mode, so a fixed runtime figure is not included here.
